Geological Survey of Alabama (GSA) provides these geographic data "as is." GSA makes no guarantee or warranty concerning the accuracy of information contained in the geographic data. GSA further makes no warranties, either expressed or implied ,as to any other matter whatsoever, including, without limitation, the condition of the product or its fitness for any particular purpose. The burden for determining fitness for use lies entirely with the user. The GSA should be acknowledged as the originator of the data. This dataset is to be used as a primary reference source. This is public information and may be interpreted by organizations, agencies, units of government, or others based on needs; however, they are responsible for the appropriate application. Federal, State, or local regulatory bodies are not to reassign to the originators any authority for the decisions they make. Photographic or digital enlargement of these maps to scales greater than those at which they were originally delineated can cause misrepresentation of the data. If enlarged, the data will not yield greater real detail, although it may reveal fine-scale irregularities below the intended resolution of the data. Similarly, where this dataset is used in combination with other data of higher resolution, the resolution of the combined output will be limited by the lower resolution of these data. Digital data files are periodically updated. Files are dated, and users are responsible for obtaining the latest version of the data.
